It's just that my advocacy has always been about female gamers and how they should not be considered as separate and/or unequal to their male counterparts. Hence, a girl-powered spin on the beloved, long-running campaign.

A Future Pet: Meet Pigling!
People are still wibbling out over Grabber/Pilfurr/Poppet, and wondering when Buppet/Broomy/Moppet will be out, and worrying about getting the fesos needed to keep them both alive. We haven't even started talking about the Grabber Lady yet, only Ferruccio knows when we're going to get THAT one....
And now here comes an update that will bring in a fourth pet, in Granado Espada Version 3.1.04.
Meet Pigling.
[Incidentally, that MCC team is quite beautifully dressed. The male elementalist looks especially dolled up for the occasion, to say nothing of his female counterpart and the male musketeer. It seems like Version 3.0 is the version where the male elementalist gets a lot of costume love....]
Anyway, the thing about Pigling is this: you have to pay real money to get her. The doratomo.jp article that's the source of this post's information and images guesses that the price may eventually be something around 10,000 Won.
Quickie conversion rates:
1 South Korean won = 0.0679724619 Japanese yen
= 0.00104722366 Singapore dollars
= 0.0337880175 Philippine pesos
= 0.000701 U.S. dollars
So,

What justifies spending that money? Further Teasers: Granado Espada Third Civilization
It looks like someone at doratomo.jp has access to the test servers where IMC is currently working on Granado Espada's much-hyped Version 3.0, otherwise known as "Third Civilization".

This time, let's talk about Expert stances, plus where on the world map will the Third Civilization new maps be.
My fellow blogger Blacksword has just recently blogged about the Expert stances that will be released in this new version of GE. Read his excellent entry here.
Refresher: the documentary video in which the IMC dudes and Kim Hakkyu discuss the development of Third Civilization. Especially relevant are the segments relating to the haunted-looking town that serves as the creepiest base for pioneering families ever, and the Mayan-temple-type maps where new mobs for the hunting will be roaming.
And here's the relevant section of the new world map, again from doratomo.jp:
The temples and the haunted town will be located between the Bahamas swamps and Cite de Reboldoeux. Unusually, there is a clear path to the haunted town from Rebo. There will be one outside map, which is likely to be where the temples are located, and then the dungeon.
Looking at the levels - I guess if you get bored of Chaos Requiem you can bop on over to the haunted temples?
This should get pretty interesting as time goes on. We already know from RCM Hrin that SEA / ANZ GE may well get Version 2.9 by the end of September. True, that's not going to be the final update before Version 3.0, but it's something that moves us that much closer.

Version 2.6: the Korean and English trailer video
Oh my! Has NineMoons finally made that grammatical mistake? Why is she talking about only one video when the entry looks like it has two videos embedded???

Today at the SEA/ANZ GE official home page: Version 2.6: The Requiem Trailer Video.

Anyway, the important features in the videos include: Selva in action, the romantic rivalry between the Jameson brothers Edward and Gavin, the continuing war between the Republicans and the Royalists - is Sir Lyndon now caught between a rock and a hard place? - and, of course, the Giants' Land!
...Now, all we need is an announcement of when this patch is coming out!

Granado Espada Version 3.0 Madness~! [Media mash-up ahoy!]
With this thread in the forums leading the charge, lots of people are now beginning to talk about Version 3.0 of Granado Espada, tentatively labeled Third Civilization by RCM Hrin [and IMC, duh~ ^^] in this blog post.
[That name for the update reminds me of playing my way through Sid Meier's Civilization IV....]
Without further ado, feast your eyes on these pieces of the Third Civilization. This is what we've got to look forward to....
A documentary-type short film in which Kim Hakkyu and the folks at IMC's Research and Development discuss Third Civilization and what wonders it holds.
[Um, yeah, it's in Korean. Translations are quite welcome!]
An eerie, abandoned town. Mayan or Incan-type temples and architecture. Designs on the terrain and monster designs that look like they might be close kin of the Nazca Lines in Peru, South America. A third currency, called the Feso. Cute pets, also under MCC! Socketing RNPC Clare in action!
DJ3 [Comique Family] posts concept art of the new armors and pets in posts 65 and 69. The pictures are originally from the doratomo.jp GE fan site.

The male wizard and musketeer are YUMMY, and even the male elementalist actually gets to wear something that SUITS him! The male scout seems to be getting even more daring, and hey, why is the male fighter so very covered up?
As for the ladies, I LOVE the fighter, the musketeer and the wizard's costumes!
EDITED TO ADD: From Fiksdotter's own blog post about Third Civilization comes a short video showing actual renders of some of the hot armor in the art above. Muchas gracias, boss.

Pixy, a scarecrow-type pet.
From the video and these concept art designs, it looks like the Grabber and the Grabber Lady could be looter-type pets, while Pixy looks like it might be capable of either buffing teammates, or de-buffing enemies, or even both.
I can't wait for this!

[Plug] A brief mention of my day job...
And now I get to tell you guys who I earn the money to buy GVCs and go to Granado Espada events.
Some time ago just before summer began, I was approached for an unusual job with a fairly unique proposition: an online community newspaper. Now, this might be old hat to you if you're not from the Philippines, but this concept is jut getting off the ground here, and I have the honor of being a writer and editor for it. I do a little of the WWW-related work and designing, but my main responsibility has to do with providing and editing the content featured on the site.
If you're interested in finding out about this project - especially if you live in the Scout Area, Quezon City, the Philippines - please drop by at ScoutAreaOnline.com.
In addition to having a responsibility to provide and edit content for the site, I also have a column in the Editorial section. The column's name is Nine Moons: Reviews, Online Life, and More. I intend for the column to be partly a lifestyle one, as I will be reviewing books, movies, and music there. I also intend for the column to be somewhat techie in orientation, as I plan to talk about the Internet and its very own cultures and sub-cultures.
I also now maintain the blog that will serve as the archive for all the columns ever published on the site. That blog is called Scout Area Online: The Columns. Whereas old columns will eventually have to be unpublished from ScoutAreaOnline.com to make room for more recent ones, the blog will serve as a more permanent webspace, and I'll never have to take stuff down from it.
I've got two columns up on the site already. The first one is simply an introduction - sort of like the opening tutorial in Granado Espada aboard the Jaclina.
The second one is Machine + Cinema = Machinima, and talks about not only the origins of that set of new production techniques / form of emergent gameplay, but also a little about the Fantazzztic Film Awards as well. Granado Espada makes a fairly nice source medium for machinima and I've been doing a little bit of promotion of GE through that particular column entry.
The other thing I like so much about the machinima column is that it gives me an excuse to post my most favorite machinima music video of all time! Sorry, this isn't Granado Espada, but this one's just too much fun - and yeah, spam much if I post it here too?

The final "Not Another Love Story" teaser: Do You Hear the People Sing?
As our team hurries to finish our final Fantazzztic Film Awards entry, a.k.a. the final version of our movie Not Another Love Story, I bring you a pair of relevant videos.
The following clips were taken from the 10th Anniversary Concert of the musical Les Misérables [Schönberg, Boublil, & Mackintosh]. This concert, now also known as Les Misérables - The Dream Cast in Concert, brought together many of the veterans from the show and was staged at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England.

The following clips were taken from the 10th Anniversary Concert of the musical Les Misérables [Schönberg, Boublil, & Mackintosh]. This concert, now also known as Les Misérables - The Dream Cast in Concert, brought together many of the veterans from the show and was staged at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England.

Notes before maintenance
It bears repeating: maintenance is today from 0900-1700 Singapore time. This is so that Thursday and Friday, the Chinese New Year, will not be interrupted, and people can go on playing however long they want.
The first entry in this blog was written on March 13, 2007, and I've just realized that this blog's one-year anniversary is literally just around the corner.

Anyone have any ideas as to how I should commemorate it? Yes, I'm thinking of overhauling the visuals a little. Perhaps a new banner, at least, and a change of background. I'm thinking of yoinking that trick with the banner image from one of the other blogs I used to read.

Props, POGS, and...Dark Horse Award~
Whoa, I've been blogging nearly every day since the New Year began... @.@ [and I'm still sick at the moment *facepalm*]

Anyway. Mad mad props go to Darrick and Nate of Casa Reclusion, as between them the boys have swept a lot of machinima-related awards. Just look at this list of wins:
Darrick's workshop entry took second place in the Intel Machinimasia Workshop Best of Show awards [and got an iPod OMG!].
And Nate's entry, Wonderful New World, won first place in the Community's Choice Awards!

Between them, Darrick and Nate took home not one but TWO awards from the Fantazzztic Film Awards' Seagate Scene and Heard Week.
Their movie with Fiksdotter, Lonely Hearts Club II, took first place [and will now be competing in the Grand Finale Week]. Oooh they got the hard drives~

And their movie with me, Not Another Love Story?, won the first Dark Horse Award of the FFA. That Bracelet of Three Kings is making me want to train up my elementalist!
